The weather is only going to get hotter, so this morning Dave will hike to the castle of St Ulrich, planning to be back by lunch.
The hike he planned will cover 3.5 kilometers round trip and 270 meters (885 feet) of altitude, so I'm staying home - happily!

St Ulrich castle made it through the middle ages intact and as the home of the Ribeaupierre family. It was abandoned in the 15th century and dismantled during the Thirty Years War.

The hike started along the city wall of Ribeauvillé

The path was a bit rough.

But the view is so incredible.

Dave got home in time for a late lunch. In the late afternoon we went into Colmar for a drink. Ok, I had ice cream.
