Ah ha! There's a market today in Vacqueyras! Off they headed to Vacqueyras only to find France's smallest market. Even smaller than the market in Thézan-les-Béziers. That's small. A bit disappointing.
Only a produce stall and a fish truck |
But to lessen the pain, the crew of Judy, Dave, Janis, and Clark visited the Vignerons de Caractère to do some tasting and pick up some rosé wines. Then continued to Beaume-de-Venise to purchase some aperitif/dessert rosé. They didn't even taste wine there then! Imagine that. Clark did need to purchase a couple of gifty things. So that was a good excuse to go to these local coops.
They got back with some time for Judy to finish packing and double check that she hadn't left anything behind. Dave dropped her at the Avignon train station around 4 pm for her to catch a 5 pm train to Paris.
We've now been here 4 full weeks, so it's time for Clark's weekly wine bottle check in. We are running out of room on the shelf of the china hutch, so Clark has arranged our 74 bottles on the dining room table for this take. He has to find a new solution for next week. Ah, well, the work of the sommelier is never done.
74 bottles of wine on the shelf (and table) 74 bottles of wine, take one down, pass it around - oh wait, we already drank these |
Tomorrow we plan to do a driving tour that includes Tarascon.
Love the wine bottle update!
